This series of clay vessels is fitted with lids engraved with kanji symbols that describe simple but important emotions such as love, hope, happiness, etc. Some follow my signature design taken from my convex/concave clay cylinders, while others follow a more traditional, wheel-thrown, lidded vessel design. I find the natural and elegant design features within the Japanese kanji brush strokes present a description in an aesthetically pleasing fashion.
All of these vessels are made of stoneware clay, fired to 2250-2350+ºF. The cylindrical vessels range in size, 10-15″ height. The wheel-thrown smaller vessels range in size, 3-6″ in height. The interiors are also glazed and can hold the contents of your choice.
